I always recommend getting worcester in on a fixed price repair. I think it is £185 all in, for up to 3 major parts.

the only way that i can see of proving this one would be to open the hot& cold taps on the sink together, and then see how the boiler behaves.

it could well be a perished diaphram in the divertor valve, and by using two taps together there is just not enough flow to hold the flowswitch on.

Well I have just had a quote from my engineer for a Worcester 27CDI fitted for £1650.00, apparantley you need thermometers on the rads for the new boilers too.

What do you guys think. £300 for the repair job or new boiler, need to bare in mind that the boiler cost £250.00 last year for a new expansion vessel...I dont know what to do..

I think you need a new engineer.

For starters WB do a fixed repair as gas4you has already said £180.-- ish

Secondly I would not be confident either solution will solve the problem, going on what you have told us.
