Hello

I have two eight foot tall washing line poles 1.5 inch diameter secured to a back wall by wall brackets. This fixing is working well.

The poles then rise above wall to be used on a roof terrace which has metal railing.

Given the length of poles and the weight of the washing, the poles bend slightly to the house and have some movement in the wind.

I would like to additionally secure them to the top of the metal railing to hold them in position without anything too big and ugly on display.

The poles stand 11cm and 15cm away from the railings respectively. I have been looking at U bolts and considering clamping plates against the poles and the railing but not seeing any suitable length bolts or ready packaged solutions.

Any better ideas or suggested products? I don't fancy cutting plates or making my own holes if something better is out there.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Delboy

Pipe rings and a short length of threaded rod between them.

Need to go to a larger merchant, BSS, Pipeline, PTS etc

Is the railing up to it? Thats the first thing id be looking at. Last thing you want is the railing being loosened by the pole, especially if its on a roof terrace.

Got a picture or two?

Try somewhere that supplies TV aerials.
