I bought a cheap SDS from ebay many years back (about £30 I seem to recall) it came with a few bits and bobs and its fine.
After an initial flurry of heavy use I probably now use it twice a year and have bought a range of cheap bits as and when required, from long skinny holes to core's

I would not bother using a hammer drill, and at that price it was rude not to have it!
