Screwfix Invalid Promo Code Entered

I received an email a day or so ago from screwfix and there was a 10% discount code in the email. I have items in my basket and I been trying to check out but I keep getting a message saying Invalid Promo Code Entered.

Image

What is really annoying is that if you click on the terms and conditions link it does not work and so I cannot see if the promo code was only valid for that specific day. It looks like this could be a programming fault judging by the hover over text-

I used one of these promotional codes last week and it worked fine

Has anyone else had any problems with the promotional codes ?

Today I got another email from them with another 10% discount code (which is the same code as they sent last time) and that is not working either.

I now have more items in my basket!

It looks like I'll have to get in touch with them ::b

Yes it is

When I have checked all my emails from screwfix the code is always the same

Just put something in your basket and try the promo code- you can remove it afterwards without buying anything

Well this is most annoying :cussing:

I have £330 of gear in my trolley and can't checkout as the promo code will not work.

I have two emails in my inbox titled "A Gentle Reminder From Screwfix", I replied to one of the emails stating my problem but as of yet I have not received a reply and I have also used the contact form on their site :?

Have you tried ringing them, i've usually found them quite helpful on the phone.

They might even throw in a goodwill voucher as compensation :)

I try not to ring firms as I don't have the time.

Ive used their contact form and replied to their email so if they don't contact me before the 10% voucher expires I'll get the items elsewhere

Are you cutting and pasting the code in to the box? If so try and manually type the code in and see if it accepts it then.

No, I tried both ways as I have been caught out with that before :thumbright:

I have ended up telephoning them, although the person I spoke to could not do anything apart from complete my order, so she has passed on my details to the internet department

Well I received a reply from screwfix today-

Thank you for your patience whilst I have investigated your enquiry.

I am sorry to learn that you were experiencinf problems when trying to place your order on Screwfix.com. I can now confirm that all your details have been updated on our ordering system however I believe the problem may be caused by a corrupt Screwfix temporary Internet file/ Cookie stored in your PC's Cache (hard drive). Please delete your Screwfix temporary Internet files and Cookies, refresh you Internet browser and make a further attempt to carry out the procedure that caused the problem.
Please note - if this procedure is to be carried out on a network or home pc it may cause further problems with other website/programmes. Please only carry out if happy to do so.

If this still doesn`t work, please reply to this email nect time you are placing an order and I will investigate the issue further. I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

Erm- I'll forget about the 10% discount then - shall I?

Call me pedantic but what is the point in my deleting my cookies to try and enter a promotional code that expired on the 13th November ::b

Well, Screwfix gave me a discount for my account to the value of the 10% (£33.73) but I had to phone them to get this discount, at the same time they sent me another email with another promotional code of 10% off, which worked- so I managed to check out and get the 10% discount that I had been waiting for since this episode started

I replied to the email which gave me the £33.73 discount to tell them that I had received a discount code that worked, so they removed the £33.73 from my account, so for all of my messing about I was no better off.

Thanks screwfix :?
