| My elderly neighbour wishes to buy a Freeviews Box but her T V, which is also elderly does not have a scart connection. Does anyone know of a cable device which would have a scart at one end a another type plug at the other end which would do the job. I told her it is unlikely there will be such a cable but who knows. |

If she has the three red, white and yellow phono sockets on her TV you could use one of these:- http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35904.
But it sounds like her TV may be so old that it only has an aerial socket. In this case I think you're struggling.
One possibility might be to take a look at Freecycle (http://uk.freecycle.org/) and see if there's someone in your area giving away a slightly more modern set. I've seen quite a few perfectly good TV's offered on there as people upgrade to LCD's or plasma's. |

there are quite a few freeview boxes that send the signal on an ariel lead as well as a scart connection.
I have 3 like that myself in fact.
Inky Petes advice is pretty sound though, as a TV without a SCART is going to be really old and chances are she could get a better newer one for free.

| Thanks for the replies. I think the free recycle option might be the best one to pursue although that will mean me having to run around and collect the item for her if one can be found. |
