I have to ask the stupid question -

is your food defrosting, or is this the freezer acting properly and shutting down when it's thermostat tells it to?

The thing totally powers off,and then it will come on again then sometimes it will work fine for a while other times it will power off.I am not sure if there is something like a thermal device that shuts it off.Not sure where to start. The fault lies with the freezer,it is not a supply issue, thats been checked
