That's the one I looked at this afternoon. What bumps the cost up? Are the pricier ones more accurate or belt and braced (safer)? _________________ Never be afraid to ask, that's how we learn. |

I've got the one from Axminster looks similar to Hitch's. It is a tad awkward to set up but once it is the results are quite good. I found it a bit fiddly to fit my old router (B&D), but as I only use the table now and again it is adequate.

Id imagine its things like the quality and accuracy of the mitre shot/guide, finish of the tabletop, number of accessories... _________________ Why isn't the number 11 pronounced onety one? |

I have only used mine for small jobs as the router is not very powerful. For bigger jobs I have a half inch router which is a bit of a brute

I use my draper expert 1/4" (identical to trend t5) mostly, but for the bigger jobs, whack in the Hitachi..
Another thought, a fine height adjuster on your router, screw type, is very usefull for adjusting cutter height _________________ Why isn't the number 11 pronounced onety one? |

My oh has American plans for a wooden bicycle. He's also got lots of musical instruments like an Appalachian dulcimer, mandolin and serpent on the go. On top of that there's a partly welded bit of a recumbent bike lying around. I thought the router table may speed things up. It'd not be used 24/7 but it would be good to get one. I'll have to measure the router base plate to see if it'd fit. _________________ Never be afraid to ask, that's how we learn. |

Thats a good point Hitch. I have the Trend micro adjuster that I have fitted (bodged) to the B&D. Marvellous what you can do with a set of taps and dies
Looking at the T3 it is similar to the B&D although the Trend has a square base plate and mine has a rounded one

My oh has bought himself a routing table! I think he must be telepathic! Now I'm back to the drawing board.

The router has collets for 1/4" and 1/2 " cutters, so he has a couple of boxes of cutters for it. _________________ Never be afraid to ask, that's how we learn. |
