Hi anyone own a roughneck gel handled claw hammer or the estwing surestrike hammer,just seen them in toolstation cat are they anygood.

estwing leather grip ...always ...everything else is an imitation :) but then im an old git and set in me ways .

I have noticed that the estwing sure strike hammer has a large striking head ,maybe it wood mark the wood easily.

marking the wood is /down to the person weilding the hammer / using ahammer is an exact skill or pure luck ...im not trying to be funny or anything ..but its amazing how much control and accuracy an experienced chippy applies in using a claw hammer and is something that takes a while to master ....if its marks in finished wood you re worried about ...a good set of nail punchs would be a good investment /ref. buying a hammer ? estwing are in my opinion the bees knees

i own a 20 oz estwing claw hammer. but its the standard vinyl grip type.

does the job well i must say though

think ill buy one of them framing hammers next. straight claw longer shaft. heavyer.

Go titanium and you'll never go back to heavy unwieldy steel claw hammers.
Lighter so faster, less effort and more wallop.
