hi there i have a very old thorn olympic 38/50b with no room stat, i have deciced to install one but upon looking through various wiring diagrams i came to the conclusion that i have a fully pumped system wich only supplies me with htg ( have a main 7 for hot water). i removed the link (as per instructions ) from L and pole 2 only to find this didnt work, i have even removed the link completely only to find the boiler fires. i have a sunvic external programer which has a L and N and 2 more wires going to pole 4 on the boiler but when i looked again at thorns wiring diagram it only shows 1 wire to pole 4 could this be my problem, any help would be very welcome

One of the wires is probably the pump.

You just need to interrupt the switch wire from the timer to the boiler.

Or post a couple of pics showing where they connect each end.
