Hi,
Does anyone have experience with replacing the whole roof structure of a Bungalow?
I'm looking to replace the old shallow pitch one with a steeper pitch, as to create rooms up stairs.
so the routes i can go down are rip the roof off, replace with pre fab trusses and add dormers, or have the roof built the old fashioned way.
So here in lies my quandary( cool word)
How can i do either of these options without moving out..... is it possible to build the old roof over the old one then take it down after?
and roughly how much in price diff.
Labour will be mainly me and my dad with the help of a carpenter

thanks in advance Lee :thumbright:

you need drawings and BCO an maybe planning involved. always best to move out before work ripping off the old roof starts.but some stay put through it all.
using trusses or a cut roofneeds skill an so do dormers an stairs, its not usuly DIY level work.
