Hi,

Did your wife buy the MG F intending to use it BG?

When I bought the MG saloon it was a proper MG. Later having become fed up of it raining in on my BMW R75/5 motorcycle I traded the bike in against an MG MGB Roadster with spoke chromes etc; this was a huge disappointment and I often thought it should have holes in the floor to get it going a bit Flintstone style? It wasn't a fair comparison dropping from the big bike to the MG but the performance between the two was considerable with the bike way out in front.

Could have been worse wine-o with only 240,000 recalls? Gone are the days of a screwdriver and a handful of spanners to repair a car but then this is progress? My days of pulling engines and gearboxes apart are well past; these days Bron and I trade in about every three years against a brand new car thereby the car is always under manufacturers warranty and for our current Fabia Monte we took out the Skoda three year servicing contract at £18 per month so we now know our motoring costs each year; possibly not the cheapest way of motoring but certainly a peaceful way of motoring and it works for us. I'm itching for a Yeti 4WD in about 18 months? We love our Monte but don't want to hang onto it until it starts causing problems.

Kind regards, Col.

I almost bought an MG until I remembered I wasn't a hairdresser.

Yep and she did until she ended up preggers. It was quite funny towards the end - bit of a squeeze, so it had to go. Drove it for about 2 years in total.

It was the 1.8vvci. I used to thrash the livings tits off it when I drove it - it just used to keep giving and giving. A big motor for such a little car!
