I have never met Dave and didn't know he was Mod5 but always found his posts very helpful
My condolences to his family and friends

Condolences to Dave's family.
We got on well both being ex matelots, he being Stoker (engineering) Branch, me a Greenie.

Our paths crossed in the '60's in Singapore, but don't recall meeting him.

His knowledge will be missed.

RIP old shipmate.

It's a strange thing to feel pain for the loss of someone you never physically met but felt you knew quite well but that's the internet for you.

If God's not a Yorkshireman he's going to have some explaining to do when our lad gets there!

Very sad news. I always got the impression things were quite stable for him these days.

How wrong one can be, especially with one so positive as Dave.

This is a shocker, it's the first time i've logged on since the 10th and i completely missed this, i am so sorry to hear this very sad news about dave. My sincere condolences to his wife and daughter.
