I did indeed - though issue may be too strong a word for it.

the sanding disc is secured by a grub screw tighted by an allan key and it undid itself - and getting it back in there to retighten was a right PITA - once done, it was fine again .............

have you no room for a star washer or spring washer!!!

a good suggestion, but it is a grub screw with no head, so a washer would just drop off

problem is, the grub screw has to be tightened with the disk in situ, and the hole that the allan key goes through is tiny - only slightly larger then the allan key itself - so only an grub screw will work probably.

The locking works by the screw pushing down through the disc into the rotating central spindle, not going into a locating hole in the spindle (I will check it there is a locating hole I have missed, though  ) so it is solely down to pressure.

If I found a replacement screw with some sort of head, it would have to be really spot on, as if the thread was slightly too long, washer wouldn't bite, if it were slightly too short, it wouldn't hit the central spindle and hence not secure - and it is not possible to look behind the disc with it in place as the shroud around the disk is part of the cast.

I guess it is one of these design things that the screw works loose and needs refitting periodically. Unfortunately, it is not possible to add a 'tightening' policy periodically as it is not possible to see the grub screw when it is fitted (but I have had a thought how to deal with that :thumbright: )

Maybe I should do a video of "Refitted the sanding disc on a Rexon Bench Sander"

Aye, and she comes from Hull, married a Cornishman 'cos the English weren't good enough.

One daughter born in Portsmouth (Pompey) one in Plymouth (Guzz). Quite a mix.
I support Cornwall Rugby Team, can't be bothered with these 'Nancy' footballers!
Oh and the English and Rugby team, except if Wales or Scotland win, then I'm a Celt!!
I also support English football teams playing abroad gives an excuse for a beer.

Some type of grubscrews are more prone to coming undone than others. Flat bottom ones dont tighten up as well as cup point or cone point.
You can get knurled cup point ones aswell, they rarely work loose.
