I am very pleased to see that modern craftsmen can turn their hands to traditional structures, and so preserve them.

Keep our British craftsmen in work, not squander money sending it to other countries so they can buy arms and ammo. Now we are asked to send money to Somalia to preserve starving people who don't deserve it.

Couldn't agree more Mooncat.

Why the hell should we feed half a million Somalians, when we can rebuild a disused chimney and a couple of rusty bridges to nowhere instead.

The Somalis can afford to buy AK47s, RPGs, and mortar rounds, then they want us to send food and water, so they don't have to do it themselves, or build water storage and conduits. And they still mutilate the genitalia of their boys and girls.

But wouldn't it be so much better to send them a boat load of Bacon instead of a boat load of cash.

Not really, we import half the pig meat we eat in Britain. Anyway, I'm partial to a bacon sandwich myself.

Not really because the pirates would hijack the ship and demand a few million ransom! :-) :-)

Can't we just get the Yanks to make Black Hawk Down II?

With a kill ratio of 52:1 it wouldn't take them long to 'save' everyone

We would spend a lot less feeding them than bombing them like Lybians.
