Has anyone used the resin capsule stud fixing method? Where you stick a resin capsule in the hole and hammer your stud in, breaking the glass and mixing the resin?
How good is it? Seems just the job for someone who only has 1 or 2 holes a year because the capsule keeps the resin unmixed.

They are great and actually work well if you install them correctly- NOT with a hammer. They are supposed to be driven in by rotary hammer action to adequately mix the stuff inc the glass up and this type should NOT be used in brick.

Thanks Steve & Styx.
Someone must have found the link useful; I'm here in less than 5 hours after Styx posted and it's been downloaded 7 times already.

Yes, tend to use the injection system much more though. As said the capsules go in and are driven by drill with adaptor, if you buy the propper studs, they have a hex on/in the top.
Otherwise, a few knocks with a hammer, but make sure you give it a good few turns to get it all mixed up.
Remember to observe the hole size required for the stud, 2mm bigger upto m16, then M20 up is +4mm
