Hi

I’m looking to replace approx 20m of telephone cable to connect to my garage/office down the garden. The cable run will mainly run down the outside wall of my house as well as under a garden gate threshold and then into the garage/office.

Previous local engineers have used a white sheath cable that has had to be replaced twice in the last 5 years as the cable has perished/became brittle due to exposure to the elements etc. I use a powerline network for the internet in the garage/office so the new cable doesn’t need to carry the internet signal - just the telephone.

Can anyone recommend suitable cable I could use- and a reputable supplier?

If it helps with your suggestions I’ve attached a photo of the office/garage extension socket as well as the house socket which shows the types of cable currently being used.

Thanks all in advance

Thanks for the advice, I've now bought some some genuine BT cable from one of those ebay sellers.

You want something with a black sheath. That usually means it's for outdoors as will be more UV resistant. That existing white cable you have in the top picture doesn't look like BT/OR cable.
