I am replacing an exterior wall light by my front door with a Screwfix code 33499 wall light with built in PIR. Existing wiring has an earth cable but new light fitting has nowhere to connect earth cable to. Do I just put insulating tape over earth and leave inside fitting?
Thanks

Rather surprising, when it's advertised as a stainless steel wall light, to find that the metal is not earthed. One can assume only that the whole of the body of the fitting is plastic and that the stainless-steel faceplate is properly insulated from the rest of the fitting. I prefer not to rely on insulating tape myself -- I prefer to fit a bit of insulated terminal strip to the disused core and then tape over that.
