I would like to replace the lock on my 25 year old Henderson up and over garage door due to the fact that various different people have had keys for it in the past and some of these people I am no longer on speaking terms with so just want the peace of mind of knowing I am the only person with a key for it.
The local locksmith that also supplies locks and mechanisms for various makes of garage door recognised the style of lock and handle when I showed him the photo as he had sold loads of them in the past and instantly told me it was very unlikely he could get hold of one, after looking through his catalogues and making a few calls he told me he was unable to obtain a replacement for me saying they were discontinued.
I have tried online searches through various websites and managed to find photos of them but none actually available to buy.
Can anyone give any advice as to what I could do about this? Similar replacements or anything that anyone knows of?
As you rotate the handle the mechanism is attached to two sliding metal bars that engage / disengage from two catches attached to the framework.

find a decent locksmith and take the lock with you they will be able to re pin the barrel or replace it - these are ultra common handles that are still made.

you need to measure the spindle length and the spigots, unless its the popup type
