Hi just wondered if anybody knows of any companies that will just supply the glass panels, fitted a new window with the brother inlaw today and he put a crack in the inside pane :cussing: we got it from wickes but they only do the whole window which wasn't cheap. So fingers crossed i can just replace the pane but something is telling me there won't be much difference in price hope someone can help.

The pane itself is 1100mm x 550mm (not the opening part its in the bathroom) he cracked it by trying to remove the plastic strips that hold it in, even though we did one last week he somehow forgot what i'd shown him. I did suggest taking the pane itself to a factory but he doesn't want a hole in the window whilst they sort one he wants to source one online and swap them when its delivered.

Take the beads out, measure glass, height, width and thickness, get a new unit made up at any good window manufacturer, leave old one in until you have the new one.
Might pay to get a spare in case he breaks that one.

   good idea a second spare may also be sensible

getting them in will cost between £30-£100 extra as it will take 2 visits
if you measure and get it wrong the duff window is yours and any allocated time for fitting may be charged
