Does anyone on here have this van, and if so, what's it like to live with? Been using a Fiat Scudo 2.0JTD for 3 years now and drove one of these Renaults today. Really liked the feel of it, but was wondering if it has any issues, in particular electrics (I got rid of a Laguna for that) that I should know about?

Same as my Vivaro i think , best van i've had , did have issues early on with gearboxes failing. But all sorted now , i'm on my 2nd one now 28k miles from new and no issues whatsoever. Long service intervals at 18000 miles or yearly whichever comes first...( which reminds me !!)
:-)

Cheers guys. It's funny how everything seems to come along at once. I'm moving workshops just now too (third time in 5 years) so will have to juggle this along with moving all the accumulated clutter that will need shifted. Do like the feel of the Renault though, and seems like a nicer place to be than the Fiat. Out of interest, does the 6th gear make a lot of difference on long runs, as I usually do some far off jobs in the better weather?

Was also considering a Transit, but the only ones that I've seen so far are the Connect, and it seems perhaps a tad small for what I normally hump around. Guy at the Carlisle Van Centre tried to shift a Sprinter onto me not long ago, but it felt like sitting in a new extension. No wonder the guys driving those things double park - they need 2-3 spaces just to fit in.

It's good for your engine, I've got a six speed box in my car; 32mph for each 1000 rpm in sixth gear, so at 70mph it's only doing a little over 2000 rpm. Figures for the van will probably be a little different but they should be available to see.

The sixth gear in the traffic does drop the rev's to 2,000 rpm at a steady 70mph
on average i usualy wait untill theres 2 bars showing on the guage then I get around 450 miles for about £65 depends on the price of fuel when i fill up

im picking one on Saturday, and cant wait! my uncle has one and hes happy with his cab has plenty of room perfect in the back, on thing ive one deccie do in his is, where the wheel arch is plylined, put abit of ply board across to both on the back and top of the wheel arch, then storing his paint tins under neath, while still having the space to put stuff on top!

ive been saving for one for a while, to me they are slick and stylish, not just the normal box shaped van, once they are signed written up they look mega!

Ayshire -
yes get the water pump changed at the same time. Im Very Lucky as my pal is a mechanic who works on these things all day, and has his own garage at home with more gear than a main dealer
I think parts were about £156 all in £40 for his labour.
