I'm getting my kitchen plastered and have been taking off the wallpaper, however whatever is behind all the wallpaper has bits peeling off it and I don't know if the plasterer will be able to skim over it.

I'm completely clueless (sorry) and have no idea what the wall is made of. I've attatched photos and I wondered if somebody would mind telling me if the wall looks ok as it is or if i need to do something else to it.

Many thanks

That look like plasterboard which is a sheet of stuff like chalk sandwiched between two layers of paper. When you take the wallpaper off, try not to damage this and do not strip it or you will end up with a mess.

If they are only small bits peeling off, the plasterer should just pva over them and then skim which will see them off. If there are any badly damaged areas, he may need to cut out a section and replace it before skimming.

Plasterboard is cheap and very quick to cut with a knife, so any work the needs to be done to it will not be expensive.
