Awhile back (2 years ago) ? I transferred photographs from my digital camera to my PC to edit them when i finished doing this i then moved them onto a disk which i now cannot find anyplace.

I have checked my PC but i think they have been deleted is their any way that i can still recover them from the PC and if so can you please advise me what can be done.

It depends how long ago they were deleted as to whether you have much chance of recovering anything.

Windows doesn't actually remove the files, it remove the link to the files, marking that area available to be overwritten. If you're lucky they might still be there.

There is lots of free software available that might help. Recuva is one, available from here

This is a good one as it can be run from a removable device so you don't risk overwriting what you want to recover when you download and install it.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion, looking further it would seem the majority of these saviour's will give you an appetiser ie hundreds of files found, (buy me now!.)

Earlier i found a no nonsense site that is 100% free from start to finish.

I use digital media recovery and over the years have found it to be the best.

just watch if you download movies as they are big files and windows tries to write to contigous memory so makes it hard to recover files.
Depends of size of your hard disk of course
