I'm going to be doing my first wetroom. What tray type / make do you recommend, and where do you buy them? Just looking about and ebay has Marmox trays, any good?

As for tanking, I've used the BAL shower tanking kit for showers with trays etc, so presume this system would be fine??

Any recommendations on drain makes as well?? Again, ebay has Dallmar drains.

whats the substrate...wooden/concrtete,ground floor etc..

i use Tuff2 formers mainly, and you get the drains/grates with them.

tanking i always use a wall and floor membrane..shulter/homelux.

just make sure the former will take the water flow from the shower unit..i.e litres per minute..
this usually dictates the size off the former.

have seem some small former fitted under power showers and its just a big puddle your standing in...(i didnt fit them tho)..

Impey are a one stop supplier. They do the tanking kits, trays, wastes and pumps for the waste water.

Standard wooden floor / joists on the ground floor. Will cement board floor. Will cement board walls at shower area.

Was looking at that marmox showerlay system mainly on cost. Needs fully supported.

Its a standard shower mixer on a combi.

in the end I just got everything from that ebay supplier.

got the tanking kit as its the same type as a bal tanking kit (and always happy with results, and confident using it). It was actually better with the tape having a rubber strip over it as well, and a proper formed corner piece supplied.

drain looked the same as the others I looked at. Used it for the first time this morning and the water drains away fine. There was a 2 foot fall over 7 foot till it exit at drain as well.

The tray was the cheaper item (£150 or so cheaper). This meant it needs fully supported and nothing less than 50x50mm stuck to it. Must admit it appeared very good (for the money)

Will look into those makes if i do a wetroom again.............in this case it was my parents house, with money tight, me doing the work for nothing, and paying for most of the materials!
