Hi,

Does anyone know why the following may be happening?

If I select my "water heating" timer to come on (not the central heating)
all my radiators seem to give off heat at the same time my water is getting heated!

Is this something that should be happening? as it just seems a bit odd to me that
the radiators get warm when I have not set the central heating on.

Any help would be appreciated.

Possibly a faulty diverter.

Some information about the boiler etc would help.

I have taken a couple of shots of the setup inside my airing cupboard, below.

Overview of airing cupboard

Blue part - Valve?

There was also the frontage of an old part I found disgarded
on the floor of the airing cupboard, which looks like the blue
part has been replaced before, see below;

Red part - pump?
I am guessing that this part is the pump?

Thanks for posting the pics

Nice high point there above the pump, bet great system to re fill

It sounds as though the 3 port valve body is faulty ,requires replacing (valve with the blue head),it seems to be letting by to the heating pipework when it should be positioned to isolate flow to rads or it could be seized in mid position

Thanks for the info.

I will have a look tonight and see when the water heating comes on whether the lever moves up
to the "W" position or if it is stuck on the "M" position.
