Hi fellow members,

Tried to be a diy hero today, which thought I had cracked, but now having doubts!

The thermostat on an upstairs radiator broke sometime ago and so the plunger was fully open, making the room like an oven. I could not find a replacement thermostat, so i decided to replace the whole value.

Having taken advice via the internet, I drained the system via a downstairs radiator. I then went to work to replace the value on the upstairs radiator. Naturally, a lot of water came out of the radiator, but replaced the value with no problems.

I have turned the heating back on, but now none of the heaters are warming up and the combi-boiler pressure is over 2. I have mistakenly let too much air into the boiler via the filling loop - but I do not how to reduce the pressure. I have tried bleeding some of the other radiators, but it has made no difference to the pressure.

I would appreciate any help.

Many thanks.

PD

Best to check in the manual, you should find one in the manuals forum if you don't have copy, otherwise one of the boys should put you right if you post the details.

I have now vented all the radiators. It seems there is very little water in the system. How do I replenish this?

Thanks

I have bleed the radiators, pressure was at 1.5. Turned boiler on, it's now 2 and the radiators are not warming up - how quick should I expect them to start getting hot?

Thanks
