What size square drive do I need to remove the top plug from my radiator, also could you tell me please what size allen key I need to install the male part of the lockshield valve? Also I have just fitted a new radiator in another room but the TRV that I bought to go with it doesnt have a taper fitting radiator side of the connection. Is there some knack to get these to seal without using copius ammounts of thread tape? I Put it together with tape and hylomar but I am going to have to remove it again because there is a very slight weep from this area.

Cheers,
Stu.

The tail should be 12mm, the plug at the top is normally a spanner, but you could try the 12mm.

To seal the threads get a small tube of Loctite 55 string and follow the instructions.

Thanks for the reply Scruff. Another thing that I forgot to ask, in the pack woth the radiator there was some little white plastic clips. What am I supposed to do with these as I can't see anywhere to fit them?

They go on the brackets where the rad hangs and stop it vibrating. Also pretty useful if one side is a mill low
