I cannot bleed a radiator in one house because the normal key is too large and slips instead of unscrewing it.

The radiator is not the normal type with the bleed at the end, but has it built into the back of the radiator, a design which I cannot understand because it must be impossible to replace.

Any assistance gratefully received. The customer is exceedingly pretty and has paid all my invoices in full on the day I sent them. She deserves our help. (Customers are often slated on the forum with good reason, equally, they should also be praised sometimes.)

If your using a brass rad key they do wear quickly internally, which doesn't help. If you cut it down a bit it sometimes fits.

Any pics! No - not of the rad key

I had this exact problem with my rads.

The only key that would fit was an old grey stelrad one.
The difference between it and the brass ones is that the brass ones have a chamfered inside edge aroudn the hole which makes it easier to ge the key on, but also slips more easily.

I ended up fitting new radiators, s the old ones were rusty.
