Hi there,

New boiler installed and I had to take off the old wired controls as they are of no use anymore.

Could someone please give me some information how is this wall (upper floor) constructed?
Looks like is some kind of lime based plaster (bit fragile) and then what's that black thing? concrete slabs? Its a semi build around 1935 ex LA. Will be ok if I patch using a common patching plaster?
I understand I have to dampen that area at first.

thanx in adavance

Ed

looks to be standard blockwork with cement render as the surface in keyed for a plaster skim (is/was it a prefab ?)

Some bonding or cement to fill the hole, and a skim coat over the top - soak the hole with water before filling so what ever you use doesn't have the moisture sucked out of it

im sure a pro will be along shortly.
