Hi all, long time listener first time caller.

I just bought a 1 bedroom flat built in 2005 with an Ideal Istor HE260 combi. I have nothing but problems with this setup and have looked into getting it replaced. However no one is willing to replace it as it currently sit in the middle of the building with the flu running 10meters or so above the suspended ceiling! So as rubbish as they are i'm stuck with it!

i;ve been round and resolved the mains pressure issues. My domestic cold water (DCW) comes in at around 3 Bar. There is a pressure valve set to 3 Bar on the ingress. All the cold taps and appliances run off this 3bar mains feed. The DCW connects to the istor with another pressure reducing valve set at 2bar.

CH works ok, radiators get hot top and bottom.

The problem is with my DHW from the boiler. When you open a hot tap the flow starts strong but quickly falls off to a slooooooow flow. It has been suggested that you can have high pressure but low flow. My question is, if this is the case, how do i fix it? Is this a problem that has likely always been there?

Would you expect problems running DCW at 3 bar and DHW at 2 bar?
Does it matter that they did not run the cold for the bath from the balancing value on the boiler?

If the pressure is dropping of that much it would suggest scale or blockage.

There are some good combi boiler that allow for silly flues.

Where abouts are you roughly, one of the guys may be able to look and quote

If the cold water is good at all the taps I'd check for a strainer in the 2 bar valve first
