Why is there no fridge/freezer forum scratch

Oh well, I am having problems with my fridge/freezer. The motor was very noisy when I first got it and I got an engineer out who said one of the fans in the freezer had frozen up scratch which I was surprised about as it was only a few days old so I insisted on a brand new machine which I got. 9 months later the noise came back, I got an engineer in again and said it was the fan motor which he replaced. Now, the machine is 18 months old and big lumps of ice are forming at the bottom of the machine which I don't understand.

This is not a cheap f/f but the top of the range (was then) Whirlpool. I am wondering if there is some design fault in this machine. Any one got any suggestions on how to stop this ice forming ?
