You're dead right mate, I should always use goggles when using tools like this, but it's not the 'looking cool' that bothers me, it's the "I can't be arsed " situation with me. So I would say to everyone to use all the safety gear reccomended by the manufacturers!

I know about looking cool, I was taking the michael Laughing

I'm lucky because the firm that I work for are deadly serious about PPE and avoiding injuries and so for the last 17 years I have had it drilled into me about wearing the correct personal protective equipment for the job that I am doing and I even do this at home, 99% of the time!

I'm going to make it 100% of the time from now on though. No more exuses from me!

If only we called all learn by other peoples mistakes instead of waiting for ourselves to make it !
Looks nasty and you are very lucky to get away without some more serious damage, hope it heals up ok.
Working for the firm i do PPE is always top of the agenda, they even go to the extreme of telling us to keep the same gear at home as we do at work, we have kevlar woven arm sleeves and gloves and at first it was a pain but now i wear them all the time, but i still get the odd cut here and there.
