I,ve just installed a new bath into an area which has been Aqua panelled ready for tiling. I intend to tile down to the bath and seal with a fine bead of silicone.
Before I fix the bath to the Aquapanel I thought I would splurge silicone around the contact area and then screw to the wall as the current gap is about 4mm. Is this a good idea, I'm thinking long term ie. will mould on this hidden silicone bead transfer to the second bead sealing the tile to the bath surround?

yep go for it if its a plastic bath fill 2/3 with water and mastic the gap

if your mastic goes mouldy you have a damp problem to solve as mould needs damp to grow

and dont forget to repeat the process for sealing the tiles to the bath
