Was in B & Q last night and they are selling A Ryobi 4v lithium screwdriver.

Has anybody used one? Or do they no if it is a good tool. I can't find anywhere on the net that gives you info. I asked staff within B&Q and it was like I asked them a question in a foreign language.

It comes with accessories within a blue moulded case.

I have the similar non-lithium one (got it from amazon), and my comment on that one would be well made, sturdy, the speed is quite slow (which is fair enough for a screwdriver, I guess) and the battery life is good, even for a Ni-cad. I like mine

So chances are the Li-On one is gonna be even better

It is very similiar to the one you have. It is £27.00 to buy and Thats with 25% off. The problem I have is that nobody else seems to be selling this product. Which makes me wonder if they are surplus stock or if it is an order exclusively for B&Q.

I'd like to buy a little cordless screwdriver. Was in a couple of BnQ's today (note to self, never go back to the first one ) and they had the Ryobi and a little Bosch one. Both lithium and both with lights on the front. OK, it sounds daft to mention the light but since I've used the impact driver with the light at the front I've found it to be really useful

Don't think there is too much in the price. Weegies says £27 for the Ryobi (wasn't priced up in BnQ ) and I think the Bosch was £35(ish). The Ryobi came with a larger selection of bits and longer ones too that will also fit my impact driver but the Bosch came with a right angle attachment.

So I'm confused as to which to get How useful in the right angle attachement combined with the extra price compared to a cheaper item, a slightly quicker charge time and torque settings plus the selection of bits altho' I could buy possibly better seperately at extra cost

Does the Ryobi Impact driver have a light on the front? (I have one and not noticed it )

to your question .... The Ryobi I bought had a set of bits which ARE handy to have ready in the case, but maybe used 3 of them in total (the PZ2 mostly, as always!) - the bits are probably worth a fiver.

How bulky is the right-angle attachment? I have seen these on ebay for about £5 or so (no idea how they compare to the actual Bosch one, mind)

Yeah the Ryobi Impact driver has a light....quite useful

The angle attachment on the Bosch is quite small, as is the screwdriver itself - infact both are very similar

My one doesn't !!!

I have the P230 Impact Driver (US Spec) - I can't believe they took the light away

Is it just above the trigger? Mine has a little bit of LED sized blue plastic there

very odd . You'd think the Yanks would need a light, with them being a little dim

maybe they should come with one of those 9 LED head-lights for the US market.
Obviously it was a very special LED, hence the massive price differential

The thing that appealed to me about the Ryobi 4v Lithium was that it came with a quick change adaptor. I was in B&Q last night and was looking at it and it does look like a good piece of kit.

I already have a cordless screwdriver B&Qs Pro make. It is a piece of Sh... It takes 6 hours to charge and you are lucky if you manage to assemble one chest of drawers before the battery life dies.

The charge time was 3 and 4 hrs (Ryobi/Bosch) which is not quick however you can constantly give it a top up with it being Lithium without it overly affecting the longevity of the battery .

I think I'm going to get the Ryobi as I can't see to point of the angle adapter given the size of the actual unit. I'll have to wait 'till after Xmas just to see if someone buys me one

I had a look at these two in B&Q this afternoon... my local one has created a large new tool area filled with Ryob, Bosch and MacAllister stuff

I was quite taken with the little angle adapter on the Bosch - looks very neat.
I think it may be one of those things which you see no need for until the day you wish you had it - A bit like the little LED on the Impact Driver - when you bought it you didn't care that it had it, but now you would miss it if it was not there
