Hey peeps.

Ok, so building a new garage but wondering how to finish the cavity wall where the entrance/garage door will be, in terms of fill and DPC at floor level.

Also, if i install a patio door and two smaller windows either side on a dwarf wall to my sunroom, do they simply fix to each other where they meet proving enough support? (obviously fixed either side into masonary also)

Cheers

Tobe

Do you mean returning the inner wall to outer at the returns, ?

Get a sheet of 25mm polystyrene, cut 100mm strips and silicone it to 150mm dpc.
Fit dpc side to outer brickwork, return blockwork in tight.

Window frames can be screwed direct to the door frames, you will need a plate spanning above.

Cheers CB.

Im good with the wall returns, its the wall at floor level im stuck with. I have 3 blocks below floor level, have concrete infil to 225mm below floor level, not sure what to do with the remaining gap, seeing as i will be driving my car over it.

Give it a couple of coats of Synthapruff, then concrete over.

Would have been much easier if i had just said the 'garage door threshold'.

Cheers
