Quick Question - probably for Hinton Heating ...

When you install the Magnaclean Professinal, would you advise a wrap or two of GAS PTFE tape on the filters threads where the 22mm connection valves fit?

Cheers,

Hoovie.

Shouldn't be necessary on the compression fittings as they are brand new, just cut the pipe and fit your compression joints, isolators etc. You could even look at the website.

Good luck, looks a good piece of kit, wonder how much restriction it causes, probably alot if blocked I know, I mean when clean.

On the pipe side, non - agreed, but I was thinking more on the magnaclean side as it is made of some sort of carbon-plastic type material.

It supposedly creates no significant resistance in the system and is "50 times less resistive then a traditional/typical (can't remember which) Y-system filter".

It is actually a fairly big canister and I reckon the magnet strenth may be designed to only be able to attract a ceertain maximum amount of sludge so it doesn't block up - I would hope so anyway

Thought it worth while as the boiler is brand new and want to preserve it as much as possible!

So, sorted then :thumbright:
