A few months ago i had a plasterboard wall skimmed.
I now intend to emulsion it .
Most of the wall is flat and smooth but some parts look and feel like sandpaper.
Almost like grit. Have tried sanding it with 120 grit but this has little effect.
A miss coat has not been applied yet.
Any suggestions would be a great help

sounds like 'misses' to me, bits he's missed when troweling up, assume they're shallow hollows?

suggest putting your mist coat on first, this will show the wall up for what it is, then use a filler to fill any hollows.

Thanks for your reply.
Could you please advise me what type of filler would be suitable?

By the way,the art of plastering has always amazed me.Would never try this myself.

Thanks Mike

Monkey - if I may ??

Mike, get yourself a bag of 'Easy- Fill' - Made by British Gypsum, comes in a small white and green bag, costs about 12 quid from any good DIY store.

Mix it up nice and smooth and then fill in any hollows - allow to dry for a few hours (preferably overnight) and then sand back with fine paper

Its wonderful stuff, sands down really easily
