Hi,
im hoping someone here will be able to help. I hadnt noticed this problem until this morning.

The bathroom is leaking water from the roof. It is built as an extension with a flat roof. The roof is of the greyish colour (sorry,i dont know the technical jargon). It seems that maybe a bit of water is pooling there..and then coming down.

What can i do to remedy this situation? please help!

if its tar and felt it has a life off around 15 to 25 years

not sure how old the roof is...only bought the house a year ago. I suspect it is probably tar and felt...
i dont think its been 25 years though!
Can i apply a fresh layer of tar to it? something else? It worries me as winter is coming and this will be a problem..

You need to get up there and take a pic or two.

Whilst doing that check the flashings where it meets the wall.

obviously on its last legs as it already leaked and patched with tape

you can apply brush on repair but you will be using it every few months

For a temp repair I'd slap some of this on:
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/10990/Bui ... d-Grey-1kg

Cheap, easy to use and actually works pretty well - ust make sure the whole area is thoroughly cleaned first.

You don't need an account to shop at screwfix, but any of the sheds will have a similar product.
