This has annoyed me for years :angryfire:

Insurance is so unfair and sexist etc. and they just get away with it.

I got wise to the insurance companies and every year I get several quotes, then I leave it to the last minute to renew. When the insurance company call me, I tel them that I have had a much better quote than theirs and they normally beat it

Having paid vehicle insurance for 20 years and not making a single claim, I think that I should be given a 95% discount

Any firm that says they will beat any price that I can get will never get my business- we can all run a business that way, but they should offer you the lowest price in the first place :cussing:

I use an online company, and have been with the same one now for about five years, far much cheaper than anywhere else, I insure my van fully comp, and for private and commercial use.
The trick that works for me everytime is that they send me the renewal, I then send them an email thanking them for the renewal, and tell them I am getting other quotes, but will be in touch to let them know if I will be using them or going with some one else.

I swear withing 5-10 mins of sending the email I get a phone call from them, and I hum and haw, saying I am not sure, as havent decided yet, then they knock it down, my insurance goes down quite a bit every year.:-)

Yes, you have to play them at their own game!

I can tell you the reason: they think you're stupid and will pay up.

I got £300 off my £600 quote for my car. No, I don't stay with the same company; if they take you for a tw@ I don't want to deal with them any more.

Adrian Flux, they used to advertise in the back of MAXPower magazine

Both of us are with Yes Insurance, can only ever get a few quid cheaper, not worth the hassle of changing.
