Working on an old house at the moment, beautiful tile work in entrance hall but getting a bit worn now and mostly a matt finish - client really wants them shiny.

Any suggestions on a sealant so she can polish them?

Sorry I took so long getting back, another one of those loony weeks. Should have posted the photos in the first place

Tiles aren't glazed, maybe some sort of earthenware? Generally in good .condition but as OP, wants them shiny.

(that isn't blood on the floor, client just painted her doorstep - something more for me to clean up!)

They are Encaustic Tiles, sometimes referred to as Victorian tiles. You can get the required cleaning and sealing materials if you go to LTP-online. Just google it and follow the Encaustic tile link then select the finish you require, gloss, satin etc.

Please be careful with this floor and the products you use as you could cause more harm than good. The floor really needs to be treated with respect, make sure it's cleaned first. LTP products as suggested would be a good choice, clean with grimex followed by Ironwax :thumbright:
