Evening all, I've just moved into a 70s detached house that has some pretty ropey old loft insulation down.I was wondering what the best stuff to use is and I've been quoted £150 to fit RockWool via a 'supposedly' subsided scheme offered by the local council. Does this price sound about right or am I being a lazy fook and should just do it myself for less?

Cheers,

Devs.

Apart from getting hot and dirty, maybe itchy, i doubt you will find many easier diy jobs. But as all things, money dictates. If you have the spare cash and are happy to see someone else do it while you make them a cup of tea, then get the kettle on.

No idea about costs, but most stuff is about £5 a roll, you would have to work out how many you would need and if you could get them in your vehicle and how many trips. You do have the advantage of going over the top on insulating so would save in the long run.

You could send the missus up there, while you do the cutting.
