went to a friends sons 18th b-day party last night. me n the misses leaning against a table drinking and she says

"look at all those lads walking around as if they are the man lool"

for anybody that doesn't know what that is, it is one of those walks you see mainly younger lads doing but also some older ones, where they push out their chest but are actually just leaning backwards and then walk with arms so far away from their sides it looks like they are carrying something the rest of us cannot see.

now for anybody that does go to the gym as a few of us do, when we see people doing that it is so hilarious because we know they have no muscle at all.

anyway, i looked at the lads she was pointing to and made a simple comment back that only dawned on me a few moments later what i had said: -

"loool, yer i see them, the funny thing is my waste is wider than their shoulders"

a few minutes later my own comment made me realise i was twice their age with a fat belly to boot. :cb

Gym I used to go to, all the younger lads were at that. Looked like they were carrying invisible suitcases.

Excercises they only ever did was chest and biceps but it was one of those pretty boy gyms were you do a set followed by looking at your self in the mirror.

i've just never understood why people do it, it just looks so stupid or funny.

admittedly most find muscle build grotesque but for those that are slightly larger than normal they probably don't care what others think because they do it for their own pleasure. i know that anything i do i do because i enjoy it, each to their own but even i think that some just look plain stupid.

if those lads realised how daft they look, because anybody with half a brain can see they have no reasons to walk like that, they maybe would be too embarrassed to do it.

Don't you find that its just the same when you are in builders merchants as well.

It always fascinates me how the attitude and statue of certain tradesmen changes when the go into these places. Suddenly they become the worlds biggest hard men! Image

Having said that, the even sadder ones, are those that don't take their tool pouches off before doing regular shopping. They probably remove them to drive to the shops, then put them back on to go shopping! And don't get me started on fluorescent jackets and bibs!! :cussing: The Village People have alot to answer for!

Did you read the other day a chippie, got done for carrying an offensive weapon (stanley knife) in his tool belt, when he went into a shop.
