Hey guys (and gals??)

wondering if there was anywhere cheap to get the blades for the bosch multicutter thing \ fein multimaster? I was using the plunge blade to trim off the bottom of some door frames and didn't know there were nails there, so I've knackered my wood plunge blade. General price for the bosch replacements seems to be about a tenner, which seems pricey, considering jigsaw blades (admittedly smaller) are less than a quid each!

Any suggestions?

Its a pain it the ass when that happens! I have done it several times too I try to use the circular one now whenever possible as its wood/metal

I generally find ebay to be the cheapest, although not that cheap!

I use the PMF when no other tool does as I think its designed for awkard jobs rather than a general use. I would opt for a jigsaw over the PMF if there was a choice but can't see how you could get the jigsaw low enough to cut a architrave

yep you just need to shop around
postage is the killer unless you spend £10 and use tool station

The fein blades don't look interchangable with PMF, I though they were supposed to be. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong thing

I bought a Bosch flexible scraper the other day. On the packet it says it fits GOP 10.8v, PMF 180E and Fein Multimaster 10mm. Nothing about any other Fein model.

looking at toolstation the blades for the new fein are a star shape i.e. similar shape to a TORX bit

You can get an adapter to use the star blades, no idea if it is any good, or if that gives you a better choice of cheaper blades. Maybe worth looking in to.

However, it is not cheap

thats it isn't it the fein blades don't look any cheaper than the PMF ones. Its a big let down of the product I would have though there would be some other manufactors making compatible blades for cheaper by now.

the fein are the origional and the most expensive by far
toolstop do a set by cel for £35 for there machine but they dont know if it will fit
they will let someone try the blades for fit only but at a restock charge off £5

Best price i've seen for this particular kit.
Can anybody beat it?
Anybody actually used this tile kit, and care to share a quick review?

Here's the best pic I've been able to find that shows you the blades fitting shape. I don't think they'd be compatible.

Hi Ig, I have the HM-RIFF blade. Used it yesterday for removing the grout, before I knocked te tile out, its very handy, however it won't cut a tile. As for the other parts I don't know but I think £35 is too dear. A good hard scraper is all thats needed to remove the old adhesive. and if you have the PMF you have a detail sander. Don't see the need for sanding anyway is you are sticking a new tile on.

Would be interested to see if anybody has used it though and their feedback

Hmm, it does say for tile cutting on the axminster page.

As i'm not removing tiles, it is probably not worth it for me.

I tried it on floor tiles and got absolutely nowhere, I was trying to cut a curve. Also tried a tile blade for the jigsaw - useless. For £35 you could buy a tile cutter which will rip through it. Made several radial cuts, snapped the pieces off and smoothed down with tile file . No idea if this was the way to do it but worked
