Hi a friend is selling a secondhand elektra beckum small mitresaw ,he bought it about 10 years back but needs a new blade, it does not have a large cutting range cannot see anything on web about it, is elektra beckum a good make.

They are normally a good make and normally make the larger pieces of equipment. If it's not got a good cutting range I'd let it pass you by and get something else.

After 10 years you never know how long it will be before bits require replacing.

The saw has hardly been used but the blade is crap alright on rough sawn wood.

You can always fit a decent blade to it and the it will probably be ok.

Elektra Beckum have been taken over by Metabo I think. Very good reputation for quality so I woudl buy it if it is the right price and it is in good nick. A good blade fitted should fix all the problems.

Thanks guys ,would it be a neg rake blade i would need, it is a non sliding mitre saw thanks.

Elektra bekum, great mitre saws. I have one of their mitre bevell saws. have had it for years and never let me down. better than a dewalt and more accurate.

I will be getting a makita soon though. Mine only bevells one way because this is all you could buy, back all those years ago lol. Now we have the luxury of two way bevells, left or right.
