Bought this set yesterday at my local power tool shop AG&R in Bridgwater Somerset, cheaper than fleabay or the net. First thought prior to use was will these teeny-weeny batteries really do the job?

Anyway, had some beautiful Howden Louis hardwood (Oak) doors to fit internally today so thought I would try them out.

Firstly the drill with torque setting was amazing for all teh pilot holes and the in-built LED light was a saint when teh door was being fitted to the frame. Absolutely no problems and it seemed to go on forever. (Still drilling after using it all day!)

Next up is the impact driver. (Slow to take off when they came out but I've been a convert for a long time). Anyway, in with the bit, and screw away. Plenty of poke and not a damaged screw in sight. 10 out of 10 for both machines.

The pack comes in a simulated flight style case, with both drill and driver, a charger and two batteries.

This kit will be used a lot.

I very nearly bought this kit but went with the Bosch instead, as you say it's a very useful piece of kit. I've used it a lot more than I thought I would.

unfortunatly the above company had the progressor in a box with batts and charger
plus the impact and drill in there own little cloth casses with batteries and charger for £252 ooo such temptation
i then bought all the tools and the torch for £71

and ooohhh bu66er that only left the angle driver at £115 including cloth wallet charger 2 batts

now you can get the full kit cheaper than £440by a few squid but not with 6 batts and 3 chargers

ok you can get the full kit for £300

anybody fancy 2 batts and a charger for half price!!

I've been using the Makita set for just over a year. Brilliant kit but it would be nice if the batteries lasted a little longer.

Also other Makita 10.8V kit would be good ie, light, radio etc

This kit (Makita LCT204W) comprises :
TD090DW impact driver
DF330DW driver drill.
The kit retails at about £120-£160.

Now there is a TD090DWE impact driver retailing at about £90+ and a DF330DWE driver drill retailing about £120+.

This 'E' in the model number appears to be quite significant.
Are the tools in the kit slightly lower quality than the stand-alone models?

@ spekkyguy, sorry to say but the only difference between the TDO90DW & the TDO90DWE is the colour & that the TDO90DW is part of the kit LCT204W annivesary range & the TDO90DWE is a single tool with 2 1.3ah batteries and 50min charger and not part of a set and the colour change to green is just the fact that those tools are not part of the anniversary range which are coloured white there quality is exactly the same also.

I finally got around to using mine over the last few weeks. Its eats its way through any task I've given it. The only let down is battery life but I tend not to use the impact unit so much so in effect have a spare battery on hand. I'd be tempted to pick up a spare battery anyway.

Personally wouldnt bother with any more 10.8v kit as theres much fun to be had with their 18v gear.

with lions you just chuck them on charge when you have 10 mins
if its a 30 min charger you will get around 60% charge on a near flat battery in 10 mins

ive got this set had it for about 4 months now and i find it awsome, there not the most power full drills i have owned but small and light and usefull for fitting kitchings.

i also got the white makita site radio and i cant complain one bit about it 10/10

anyone thinking of buy it..... do it!

I did have the pleasure of using these drills to do a bit of drylinning & really liked them especially the impact driver, but was wondering how the impact driver would fair (battery life) doing a full days work on site of plaster-boarding ?.
At the moment Im toying between buying this set because of the lightness or just buying a bare body 18v lithium impact driver seeing i already have a drill driver & batteries etc
