I'm not a fan iof black and decker any more, I think they make too many gadgets on the tools for sake of build quality. I have broken too many B&D tools. Prefer Bosch green for home use

Interested to know what others think

I admit I WAS a fan of B & D I still have a 1050w 8" circ saw taht I bought well over 20 years ago. We had a repair shop in Portsmouth and their charges were reasonable, you could get all spares or leave it with them to refurb.

Since it closed B & D have gone to cheap throw away stuff, I now mainly have Green Bosch, DeWalt or Ryobi.

I'm going to do what Python did and post a pic of my tools, when I get a round to it.

Yes I think Bosch green, Riyobi are good choices for a heavy user DIY man.

Problem about cheap tools is that its very hit or miss. I have / had challenge (argos), Skill, Forge Steel brands, Ebauer. Serious sh#t, waste of money. I bought a cheap Jigsaw from argos, it couldn't cut a jacobs cracker without the guide wheel moving about. Skill screwdriver had the strength of a baby and battery life of about 3 screws  I had a little bosch green screwdriver which was excellent little worker

However, on the other hand I find Titan stuff from Screwfix actually not bad at all, excellent value for money. I have treated my SDS drill like a Thai H##ker, using it as core drill, smashed out fireplaces, and its still going strong.

I love my Makita cordless 18V drill. I use it a lot, probably too good for my use but excellent piece of engineering. Although if you are spending all your free time doing DIY tasks, its much nicer using a decent set of tools, makes tasks enjoyable rather than a chore.

On a grumpy note, I bought a homebase needlenose pliers , after about 4 tugs at something, handle slides off :cussing: Ordered a bacho yesterday £22
