Which did you run, Spybot or Superantispyware or both?

What indication are you getting that the Flash player is not turned on?

To update Adobe Flash Player 10 either go to this site:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
and download or, if it fails to download, try to download and save to desktop on another computer then move it to a USB stick and install from there.

Definatley got control of my iexplorer again, worried after rebooting windows would'nt load until I went through last known good config.

I am always getting the loaded but with errors on page and if I go to some sites I get that I need the latest java and flash or shockwave I've tried to download from the sites but still they ask for the programmes even when I think I got them.

Which version of Internet Explorer do you have?
Also which operating system, Vista or XP?

Download and install Firefox v3.0.11 from:
http://filehippo.com/download_firefox/5754/

Ensure it says "v3.0.11" and click the words "Download this version" on the right.

You will soon get used to it and will probably like it much better than IE.
Your Favourites in IE are called Bookmarks in Firefox but it is easy to import them.
Open Firefox -> Click Bookmarks in the toolbar -> Organise Bookmarks.
Click Import & Backup -> Import HTML -> Select MS Int Explorer -> Next.

See how you get on with that.

The reason I suggest Firefox is to see if you get similar problems and to try and eliminate certain things. If Firefox works fine then it is a problem just with IE.

try http://www.getfirefox.com (firefox home site)

still sounds like you have some sort of browser hijack going on somewhere

did you run both the superantispyware and spybot? if so what did they pick up?

sometimes have to run them a few times to get rid of all of the stuff lurking

Looking at your screen shot, I see you have a version of XP installed, but which version of IE have you got. Open it and click on 'Help' -> 'About' to see for sure which it is.

What Norton do you have installed? Have you run a scan with it?

Reboot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key as soon as it boots and select Safe Mode by using the arrows on the keyboard and the Enter key.

Run a Full Scan with SuperAntiSpyware and let it remove all it finds again.

Scanning in safemode is so that very little is running and the scanner gets a better chance of finding anything.

Do you have access to another computer to try the downloads on there and use a USB Stick to transfer them across.

GS,

No offence intended but two quotes from you ring alarm bells:
1:
Quote:
Ok please remember your dealing with a computer ideate

2:
Quote:
IE 8 Beta

Any program that is a BETA version is not a fully tested program. It is released so that 'clued-up' people (not me, 'cos I will not play around with Beta versions) can use them and report any problems so that they can be cured before a fully tested version is released to the genarl public.

After running SAS in safe mode, try uninstalling IE 8 Beta, it will revert your computer back to eithert IE7 if you had it installed or IE6 which will have come with your computer.
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Scroll down to Windows IE8 and click it then click Remove.

Once it has been uninstalled you will either have IE6 or IE7 working.

Try to download IE8 from
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/intern ... sites.aspx

Select your Country and OS and install from there.

Hi dave

Was in the process of restarting to boot in safe mode and thought would come back this is why:

On the closeing windows blue screen it displayed DO NOT UNPLUG OR TURN OF YOUR COMPUTER THIS WILL BE DONE AUTOMATICALLY then this would change to INSTALLING UPDATE 1 OF 3 ... so thought let it run

anyway computer went off eventually about 10 min so thought power back up, normally would go to TV and watch a programm for about a min or two to then log in, (I run my bussiness from this PC so password protected), 30 sec the welcome secreen was there never been that quick.

5 min later wrighting this, thought before doing anything else contact u
