I live in a 400 year old stone barn converted to a house in 1990. We have an electro osmosis damp proof course which is great however I have tried many different wireless network devices but do not seem to be able to get anything to work. Has anyone else come across this problem and if so have they a solution other than hard wire the network!

prob due to composition of the stone, if it has a high metal content worse still

causes the radio waves to refract and lose strength

not sure about the osmosis

Where is the router and where do you want to be able to connect?

I've set up a fe big houses and hotels with homeplug kits and wireless access points. Plug an ethernet cable into the router or modem into a homeplug into the mains.

The electricity acts as a network.

Plug another homeplug into a mains plug on a different floor and connect it to a wireless access point.

You can even get mains plug adapters with a wireless aerial. Something like this
