Hi Guys, new to this forum.

I have a stupid question, but then that's me all over.

Can a strike locks be linked to a fire alarm system? I am under the impression that all strike locks should be "fail secure" where I want a "fail safe" lock, so that if the power is removed the lock will open.

If they can....how?

Thanks in advance.

Ian...the not so bright spark.

Yes they have to be fail safe and most are based on a the 'yale' type lock - that is from the inside you simply turn a yale lock to open door to escape from a fire whereas on the outside you would not want to run INTO a building on fire!!
