| I have a cellar and the bottom 5 or 6 rows of bicks in places are showing signs of salt coming from them and the outer face of some of the bricks are starting to come away.the brick work has been painted approximatly 10 to 15 years ago.Is there anything I can apply to the brick work to stop the salt and the bricks deteriating . |

There are brush applied products available which you can use to seal the brickwork with, have a look in your local build center and ask a member of staff if unsure. You might need to wire brush off any old loose material on the wall surface before applying a new seal though.

| the product griffin is on about keeps water out, this is not what you requir as it is internal, you need something to allow it to dry through without spalling the faces of the bricks. Lime render them with traditional products, this will allow the bricks to dry naturally through the product without damage to the faces. |
