An Edwardian terraced house has damaged exterior bay window sills, small chunks (Mars bar size) knocked off the edges and corners. The sills are painted and the material unknown, cement or re-constituted stone perhaps. Advice on repairing would be appreciated (new DIYer).

It's hard to advise without seeing it, hence the question here-

If you are going to paint over the whole lot you could use some external filler-

Thanks for that. We'll use the new exterior Polyfilla, build up the damaged sections, then try to shape them back. Referring to 'scruff's request for a picture, I've never seen a photo on a forum, is it allowed ?

Click on the post reply button at the bottom and there's a facility to add photo's.

You need to resize them so they're not to big

Use Toupret murex, this stuff will stick to any substrate at any depth and can be worked on as it goes off. However get it as smooth as poss as once its fully hardened only wet and dry will touch it.
